Courtney Christian School Launches Alumni Association

Courtney Christian School is proud to announce the launch of its Alumni Association, which will serve as a connection between the school and its students who have completed eighth grade as they continue their education and embark on their careers and lives beyond school. Students who were in eighth grade during Courtney Christian School’s inaugural school year are now midway through their college education and continue to demonstrate excellence in their studies and extracurricular activities, while those in subsequent graduating classes also are excelling in local high schools and colleges.

Eighth grade students in Courtney Christian School’s first graduating class in May 2016 are now completing their second year of post-secondary education, with many alumni enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University, Louisiana State University and other area colleges. Members of that graduating class include Mia Lanus, Courtney Christian School’s first eighth grade valedictorian, who is now a student at Southeastern with plans to begin nursing school in the fall; Genie Vest, who is finishing her second year of studies at Southeastern; and Emily Oller, who is completing her second year at LSU. Also at LSU, from the 2017 eighth grade class, Branson Catalanotto continues to demonstrate the strong academics that earned him a full scholarship as well as finds ways to share his faith, including hosting Bible studies, leading worship and helping with the establishment of Capitol City Church.

Courtney Christian School alumni continue to excel in local high schools as well, including Kendall May and Savannah Smith, both members of the 2018 eighth grade class who graduated from Hammond High School earlier this month with summa cum laude honors – the highest honors given by the school. Additionally, Asher Boney, another 2018 eighth grade graduate, plans to pursue collegiate basketball this fall following his time at Ponchatoula High School.

All students who completed eighth grade at Courtney Christian School are invited to register for a free Alumni Association membership at www.courtneychristianschool.com/alumni to share about their current accomplishments and future endeavors, be featured in upcoming school communications, attend upcoming alumni events and stay in touch with the school as it continues to grow. Courtney Christian School plans to host its first Alumni Association event this fall, serving as an opportunity for alumni to reconnect and visit the growing campus. This summer, the school will begin a formal outreach to communicate this exciting Alumni Association membership opportunity to all past graduates.
