Faculty & Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Courtney

Mrs. Angela Courtney teaches middle school History and 8th grade homeroom, and she also leads the middle school teachers as department head. Known throughout Ruth Burton Hall for her engaging lessons and outgoing personality, middle schoolers at Courtney Christian School are blessed by her daily.

While she has been teaching for 31 years, Mrs. Courtney was a founding faculty member of Courtney Christian School seven years ago. Her favorite thing about teaching at Courtney Christian School is the students, specifically, “engaging with them, sharing what I’ve learned and showing them how to have a relationship with God and apply His word to every situation.”

Outside of school, Mrs. Courtney enjoys gardening and visiting historical places. She is the daughter-in-law of Courtney Christian School Founder and Headmaster Sue Courtney.

A parent of one of Mrs. Courtney’s students had this to say about her: “She gets to know her students as individuals – their strengths, weaknesses and personalities – as no student is identical in their skills or learning abilities. All three of my children say she has a quick laugh, is always smiling and makes learning fun!”

Thank you, Mrs. Courtney, for leading our middle school faculty and students with excellence!
