Mrs. Kelly Hamel has been teaching Pre-K 4 at Courtney Christian School for five years of her 12-year teaching career. If you’ve ever visited Mrs. Hamel’s class, you know that she goes above and beyond to provide fun and engaging lessons to her young students. For example, Mrs. Hamel is working on her American Sign Language (ASL) certification and uses that knowledge to teach her students to sign each letter as they review and practice letters during Phonics class.
According to Mrs. Hamel, she enjoys “being the foundation for students academically and providing them with a fun and loving space to begin their learning journey.”
One parent of a student in her class said this of Mrs. Hamel and her paraprofessional, Mrs. Dana Rose: “Mrs. Hamel and Mrs. Rose have been such a huge blessing to us. Mrs. Hamel always stays in contact with me to make sure we are utilizing every option there is to help (my student) excel in school. She is the true definition of going the extra mile and we are deeply thankful for her.”
Another parent said, “Mrs. Hamel has been a shining light for us this year. She is so understanding and helpful with (my student). We appreciate her more than she knows!”
Outside of school, Mrs. Hamel enjoys spending time with her family and animals.
