On Sunday, Nov. 6, Courtney Christian School held a High School Interest Meeting to discuss preliminary operational plans and details for the high school it plans to start in August 2024. Key information shared at the meeting included:
The location is still to be determined, but we plan for the high school to be located on a separate campus from our current school.
In August 2024, we plan to begin with 9th and 10th grade students in our Upper School; CCS 7th and 8th grade students will also move to the Upper School. We plan to add 11th grade in August 2025 and 12th grade in 2026. Our Lower School students in Pre-K3 through 6th grade will remain at our current campus.
We expect to begin registering new students for the high school in late 2023/early 2024; currently enrolled students will have priority enrollment.
Tuition for the high school has not been set, but we expect it to be competitive with private high schools in our area.
Courtney Christian School is a state-approved school; we expect to finalize our rigorous accreditation with the Association of Christian School International (ACSI) by early 2024. State approval and accreditation of the high school are expected prior to opening.
We plan for our high school to meet the requirements for and offer a curriculum that will allow students to qualify for TOPS.
We plan to offer classes for both diploma pathways offered by the Louisiana Department of Education based on students’ needs, taught from a Biblical Worldview.
We plan to offer classes such as Honors, Dual Enrollment, Bible, Fine Arts and Resource.
Daily schedules, arrival/dismissal times that coordinate with the Lower School, uniforms and other details will be decided and announced at a later date.
We expect to host a full Athletics program, scheduling our first two seasons against independent opponents until we have 9th through 12th grade students in 2026 as required to apply to LHSAA.
We plan to announce employment opportunities and the application process at a later date. Teachers will need to hold a bachelor’s degree and a state teaching certificate in their specific content area, as well as be active in their Christian faith and church attendance.
Additional details and updates will be provided in the coming months. Follow our Facebook page and join our email list to stay connected. If you have questions about our high school plans, please submit them here.
