We are excited to announce our Administration and Board of Directors have finalized a plan to begin our high school Athletics program immediately upon opening in August 2024. Until we qualify to apply to the LHSAA (with 75+ students in grades 9-12, which will be no earlier than Fall 2026), we plan to apply to and participate in the Association of Christian Educators of Louisiana's (ACEL) Athletics league.
ACEL offers volleyball, basketball, 8-man football, soccer, track and field, cross country, baseball and softball at both the junior varsity and varsity levels. We plan to field as many teams as possible based on student interest and participation. ACEL schools are located throughout the state; while we will likely participate in a regional district for some sports, travel up to three to four hours each way could be possible for some away games.
We intend to apply for ACEL membership by early 2024 to begin participating in Fall 2024. We expect to become eligible for post-season (state championship) play in Fall 2025, after one year in the ACEL. We look forward to starting our high school Athletics program in a league that supports our Christian mission and educational values. You can learn more about ACEL here.
We expect to communicate the exact location of the high school in the near future as well as provide additional details regarding admission requirements, waiting list/registration dates, tuition, and an advisory committee comprised of parents and community members in the coming months.
