We hope you are having a wonderful summer! Our board and administration are continuing to meet throughout the summer to advance plans for our future high school.
We are excited to share that we will begin offering Algebra I to our eighth grade students in the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Qualifying eighth grade students taking the course will be eligible to earn one Carnegie credit toward a high school diploma upon the successful completion of the course. The class will be taught by Mrs. Dana McDaniel, our newly hired seventh grade homeroom and seventh and eighth grade Math teacher, who has taught Algebra I for six years. Current CCS parents of qualifying eighth grade students will receive detailed information about enrolling in this course soon.
Additionally, we will offer a very limited number of remaining Algebra I seats to qualifying eighth or ninth grade homeschool students in our first-ever homeschool partnership, which we plan to continue into our high school. Interested families may email klamonte@courtneycs.org with questions or to join the waiting list for this class.
The criteria to enroll in Algebra I for high school credit for the 2023-2024 school year include:
Parent & Student Request
Student must have at least an A-B average (or a 3.0 GPA) in his/her 7th grade math class each nine weeks.
Student must have an overall A-B average (or a 3.0 GPA) throughout his/her 7th grade year.
We look forward to providing additional updates at the end of the summer as we prepare to open our high school just one year from August. To read our previous high school updates, visit our News section at www.courtneychristianschool.com/news.
